Biographie de Dj From The Crypt
Thought to be born around the year 1210, there is no information available about his childhood. The first writings found report that he was in Strasbourg, France, by the age of twenty. It is there where he was wrongly accused of bewitching virgins. He chose exile because he was persecuted by the Inquisition. From then on, only vague testimonies and hints of his presence in various places were heard. Crazy rumours were spread about him: a merciless pirate in the Caribbean sea, a vampire hunter in the Carpathians, some even thought of him as being the Samurai Jinzoui cited by Sun Tzu in The Art of War. As he was a good friend of the Marquis de Sade’s, he was thought to have been the instigator of many long-remembered orgies. Irritated by his intemperance, the Cardinal of Richelieu allegedly immured him alive in the crypt of the Strasbourg cathedral. He was thought to be dead and buried, and yet he remained alive in everyone’s mind. All along the XIXth and XXth centuries, many witnesses reported seeing a discrete shadow crawling between the gargoyles of the Strasbourg cathedral, yelling meaningless words.
In an urban legend of the early XXIst century, he was eventually called DJ From the Crypt: an electro/minimal DJ, who has played in over 300 parties in France, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium, and has shared turntables with famous Dj’s like Dave Clarke, Carl Cox, Pascal Feos, Moonbootica, Argy, Gayle San, Fex, Scan X, Monika Kruse, Sebastien Léger, The Advent, Heartthrob, Thomas Schumacher, Tocadisco, Lützenkirchen, Matt John, Ben Long, Spirit Catcher, Markus Lange, Dave The Drummer, Stanny Franssen, Patrick Lindsley, Marco Carola, Oliver huntemann, The Youngsters, Mogwaï, Superflu, Heinrichs & Hirtenfelner, Piemont, Kiko, Der Dritte Raum, Kraft, Pepperpot, Tuttle, CSmooth, Ian Liebfer, Oliver Koletzki, Tonio, Jack de Marseille, Laurent Hô, Sven Wittekind, D Diggler, Daisy aka Mandragore, Popof, ZNA, Anton’x, Lenny Dee, La Carotte. On situerait sa naissance aux alentours des années 1210. On ne dispose d’aucune information sur son enfance. Les premières traces écrites attestent de sa présence en France à l’âge de vingt ans où l’on accuse (à tort ?) d’envoûtement de pucelles. Persécuté par l’inquisition, il se résout alors à l’exil. Dès lors, l’on ne dispose de lui que de vagues témoignages, traces de son passage en des lieux variés. Les rumeurs les plus folles courent : pirate sans pitié dans les mers des caraïbes, chasseur de vampire dans les Carpates, on le soupçonne d’être le samouraï Jinzoui cité par Sin-tzu dans L’art de la guerre. Grand ami du Marquis de Sade, il aurait organisé bon nombre d’orgies restées dans les mémoires. Le Cardinal de Richelieu, agacé par ses excès l’aurait alors fait emmurer vivant dans les cryptes de la cathédrale de Strasbourg. On le croit mort et enterré mais son empreinte subsiste dans l’inconscient collectif. Ainsi au cours des 19ème et 20ème siècles, de nombreux témoins attestent avoir vu une ombre furtive se déplacer entre les gargouilles de la Cathédrale, hurlant des propos incohérents.
Enfin, une légende urbaine du début du 21ème siècle refait parler de lui sous le nom de DJ From The Crypt : dj électro/minimal qui aurait plus de 300 soirées à son actif en France, Allemagne, Suisse et Belgique. Il aurait mixé aux côté de dj’s prestigieux tels que Dave Clarke, Carl Cox, Pascal Feos, Moonbootica, Argy, Gayle San, Fex, Scan X, Monika Kruse, Sebastien Léger, The Advent, Heartthrob, Thomas Schumacher, Tocadisco, Lützenkirchen, Matt John, Ben Long, Spirit Catcher, Markus Lange, Dave The Drummer, Stanny Franssen, Patrick Lindsley, Marco Carola, Oliver huntemann, The Youngsters, Mogwaï, Superflu, Heinrichs & Hirtenfelner, Piemont, Kiko, Der Dritte Raum, Kraft, Pepperpot, Tuttle, CSmooth, Ian Liebfer, Oliver Koletzki, Tonio, Jack de Marseille, Laurent Hô, Sven Wittekind, D Diggler, Daisy aka Mandragore, Popof, ZNA, Anton’x, Lenny Dee, La Carotte.
