Biographie de Ymrg

Strasbourg, début 2006... Des cendres de Stormbringers nait YMRG. Yannis a la batterie, Regis a la basse et Mathias a la guitare. Meilleurs amis depuis bientot 2001, ils ont joué très souvent ensemble depuis cette époque là, developpant doucement leur identite musicale, et c’est comme ça qu’YMRG est né. Ils enregistrent d’ailleurs plus de 5h d’improvisations en moins d’un mois en 2003!! Les repet se passent à la maison bleue, au Neudorf dans le sud de Strasbourg. En octobre 2006, le premier concert en comité restreint est un succes. Dans la set list: du Satriani, du Iron Maiden, et 3 compos. Depuis, leur travail est uniquement focalisé sur les compos, les idees fusent, parfois meme des idees d’autres styles musicaux (blues, bossa nova). Plusieurs compos sont finalisées, plein d’idees sont en stock (plus ou moins contretes suivant qui les apportent), et quelques compos terminees sur le papier en attente...

YMRG est maintenant en recherche de concerts et souhaite vraiment se produire dès la rentrée!

Hi you all!

It's been a while without news!

The band is not dead, let's say we've been quite busy the last few months...
We eventually finished our third and fourth song, called Exanimate and Untold Secrets.

We intend to buy some material in order to record ourselves with a decent sound quality, for the moment the songs available for listening have a poor quality, and we'll try to record the new sounds in the few months.

Mathias brought 2 months ago a new idea that fitted perfectly with Yannis's mood at that moment, Régis brought the intro's riff (oh man this one is well worth of it!!!!) and we decided to work and to developp this new song rather than working on a song that is waiting for its turn on the shelf.

We've got many more songs waiting, but this new one will be darker, louder, more aggressive and still progressive... At the moment it's a big work in progress with ideas coming from nowhere else than the brain of our psycho guitarist... all that mixed with the positive energy from our drummer will give a monster piece of music, but yet no one knows how this one will finish...

Yannis's back in the "La Réunion" island, he's native from this island, we'll start again in mid-January.
