Biographie de The Barcodes
The Barcodes are a 5 member explosive Rock‘n’ Roll band from Luxembourg. Thanks to their mixture of 5
different musical horizons, the Barcodes’ sound can be described as Blues‐Ass‐Shakin’ Rock‘n’Roll with
some edgy Post Punk hooks.
After releasing their first album « At the End of the Road of Nowhere » in 2010 and after touring a lot, The
Barcodes are proud to announce the release of their second album « Nice boys don’t play Rock’n’Roll ». A
strictly limited colour vinyl EP with 6 « blowin‐your‐ass‐away » RnR Tracks will be available from March
31st on.
The Barcodes started in 2005 as a motivated band
that played at this time mostly local shows and
got their first live experience toghether with
bands such as : Carl Wyatt and the Delta Voodoo
Kings,Ten Strike or Dave White & The Bad Luck
Cats.
In 2007 the « Blues meets Rock Tour » took place
together with Francis G. Around 20 shows were
played in Luxembourg and the greater region.
First demos were recorded in 2006. In 2007 their
remake of The Crystals’ « Santa Clause is coming
to town » figured on a DNR Christmas
Compilation called ‘Merry Luxmas’. In 2008 the
work of their first album « At the End of the Road
of Nowhere » was started. During the next two
years The Barcodes switched between gigs and
studio sessions. During those years, they played
over 200 shows with bands such as : The
Experimental Tropic Blues Band, Mr Gerry
Manders, The Locos, Mark Foggo or Turbostaat.
Finally, in 2010, they released their first album on
Deville Records.
A year later new songs were ready, so the 5 guys
decided to record them in live sessions. This time
they were looking for an analog studio to work
with. They decided to work with JeanPaul
Gerard
from Nohype Audio in Liège. In only 5 days the
entire album was recorded and mixed, and finally
sent to Matt Verta Ray’s New York City HED
Studios where Ivan Julian did the mastering. The
Barcodes are proud to present their second album
that will blow your mind away!
Right now The Barcodes are preparing a release
show for « Nice boys don’t play Rock’n’Roll »
that will take place on March 31st, 2012 at the Melusina.
