C’est en 2006, sous l’impulsion de Denis, qu’est né le projet "The Mooring Mast". Le groupe n’a alors pas d’autres prétentions que de proposer une musique populaire de pub, piochant dans un répertoire traditionnel irlandais / écossais. Objectif : rendre hommage et faire voyager cette musique plus loin que ses racines... "The Mooring Mast" devient au fil du temps "The Moorings", sa formation change également. Le groupe se produit avec divers artistes tels que Sarah Blackwood, The Real Mac Kenzies, The Mahones ainsi que Soldat Louis a plusieurs reprises. Un premier Ep voit le jour en septembre 2009 rendant hommage à Ronnie Drew et Tommy Makem au travers de standards populaires. L’année 2010 prend une tournure importante pour le groupe : une trentaine de concerts dont une tournée en Hongrie, la victoire d’un tremplin, enregistrements en studio... "The Moorings" se lance dans l’écriture, propose une musique traditionnelle mêlée d’influences punk et prépare la sortie de son premier album pour début 2011 : "Pints & Glory".

The Band, initially known as The Mooring Mast, was born in 2006, the creation of Denis (their Lead Singer). Initially the band produced pub/folk music from the traditional Scottish/Irish songbook. Their objective was to pay tribute to the music and share their love of traditional Celtic song with a wider audience. The Mooring Mast has matured over the years, eventually becoming The Moorings to reflect changing musical collaborations. The band has supported multiple artists on more than one occasion, playing with, Sarah Blackwood, The Real McKenzies, The Mahones, as well as Soldat Louis. Their first EP, homage to folk singers Ronnie Drew and Tommy Makem, was released in September 2009. 2010 has been an important year for the band, seeing their first 30-day tour of Hungary and a Battle of the Bands victory; the latter bringing them into the studio again. Inspired by a love of folk as well as modern music, The Moorings are now writing songs that draw upon a mix of both Irish and Punk influences. The release of their first LP titled, ‘Pints and Glory’ is anticipated in 2011.

„The Mooring Mast“ (ursprünglichen Namen der Band) wird 2006 gegründet, unter dem Einfluss von Denis (Sänger). Am Anfang, spielt die Band Pub/Folk Musik aus dem traditionellen Irischen/Schottischen Repertoire. Ziel ist damals dieser Musik Ehre zu erweisen und sie mit einem breiteren Publikum zu teilen. Im Laufe der Zeit wird "The Mooring Mast" zu "The Moorings" umbenannt, und die Besetzung ändert sich auch. Die Band spielt als Vorgruppe von verschiedenen Künstlern wie Sarah Blackwood, The Real Mac Kenzies, The Mahones sowie Soldat Louis. Ein erstes EP wird in September 2009 veröffentlicht, als Hommage an Ronnie Drew und Tommy Makem, mit einer Reihe von populären Klassikern. 2010 erweist sich als einen Wendepunkt für die Band: über 30 Konzerte mit einer Tour in Ungarn, einen Sieg bei einem Band-Contest, Studio-Aufnahmen... "The Moorings" beginnt eigene Stücke zu schreiben, mit einer Mischung aus traditioneller Musik und Punk-Einflüsse, und plant die Veröffentlichung seines ersten Albums gegen Anfang 2011: „Pints & Glory“
